When is the next Autumn Statement and what has Philip Hammond got planned for our finances?

Phillip Hammond, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, will deliver his first Autumn Statement on Wednesday November 23 2016.

The Autumn Statement details what the Government has planned for the UK’s economy and public finances based on the latest forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).

What to expect

Hammond has said that he may use the Autumn Statement to ‘reset’ economic policy following the UK’s decision to leave the EU.

"Over the medium term we will have the opportunity with our Autumn Statement, our regular late year fiscal event, to reset fiscal policy if we deem it necessary to do so in the light of the data that will emerge over the coming months," he said earlier this year.
